12/10/09 Boys Basketball Team Starts 2-0
The 2009-2010 Rittman Boys Basketball team has started the season 2-0, thanks to a pair of blowouts during the opening week of the season.
Rittman got the first win against Central Christian on Friday night, winning the contest 94-43. Rittman was led by Barrett Gasser who tallied 22 points and 11 rebounds. Dustin Sharier (17), Larriyon Smith (15), Brandon Bauman (12), all were in double digits for the Indians.
Ian Underation led the team with 6 assists, while Mike Walls (8) and Devyn Turbeville (9) had big games off the bench for the Indians.
The Indians topped Kingsway High School 74-43 on Tuesday, to run their record to 2-0. The Indians used a big second half to pull away from the Eagles. They used a 53-15 second half charge to earn their second victory of the season. The Indians were again led by Barrett Gasser who poured in 16 points and ripped down 11 rebounds. Patrick Rufener added 12, Larriyon Smith chipped in 11, while Dustin Sharier, and Bradon Bauman had 9 and 8 respectively.
The Indians also had a fine defensive effort from Logan Rufener who finished the game with 6 points and 11 rebounds.
