Lorain County: Boy dies after being struck by tree branch

LORAIN COUNTY -- The death of a 12-year-old boy in Lorain is being blamed on flying debris created when the remnants of Hurricane Ike roared across northeast Ohio.
The Lorain County Coroner confirmed this morning that the boy died after being hit in the head by a tree limb brought down by a wind gust.
The boy was reportedly riding his bike home on Queene Ann Drive to escape the storm when he was hit by the falling limb. It happened Sunday evening around 6 p.m.
Three other deaths in the state are also blamed on the high winds.

Lorain, OH - A 12-year-old boy is dead after being hit by a tree limb.
The deadly accident happened Sunday evening.
Police say Zachary Gott was walking home on Queen Anne Drive when a wind gust brought down a tree limb - and hit him on the head.
Lifecare Paramedics treated the boy on the scene and transported him to Community Health Partners ER where he was later pronounced dead.
